Savong’s School is no longer operating. When the school opened in 2004 there was a serious gap in the local state school system in Bakong, near Siem Reap. Since then the Ministry of Education has done a very good job of building a strong pool of teachers, and they have invested in PCs for computer education.
However, there is a very good sister organisation in the USA: the Savong Foundation which is a registered charity. They have focused on taking disadvantaged (poor rural) students the boost they need to go through and graduate from University. This is a powerful and useful way to do some good.
