One in a Hundred: Savong. (And a hip hop connection in Phnom Penh)

Back in 2010 a project organised by an Indian journalist Tithiya Sharma identified 100 amazing people and the work they do. The assignment, covering several continents was called the (click here to read) 100 Heroes Project and among the amazing stories was that of Savong. Now that story is coming up for three years old, but the background doesn’t change really.

Incidentally Tithiya covers another Cambodian hero that I also admire: the founder of Tiny Toones – a hip hop artist who got deported from the USA, found himself on the streets of Phnom Penh and decided to turn his skills into a useful outlet for local street kids.

An amazing story you just have to read!
