Penpal idea – takes sponsorship to a more personal level

Mischief kids – outside the Children’s Home, near the school.

A pen-pal program has begun between the children living at the SOC (now named the Savong Home and Education Centre – SHEC) and their sponsors overseas. And already a few letters have been emailed. The children are fascinated by their sponsors – who are they? Where do they live? So it is like having an exotic aunt or uncle – and the children are keen to hear back from their sponsors.

For safety reasons emails go via Savong or Theavy, rather than direct between sponsors and children.  We will write letters also to the children who, as yet, do not have sponsors. Nobody should miss out!

  1. This is a great idea ! Its important for us sponsors to feel a contact with our children in SHEC … we want to be a part of their lifes even if from a distance its important. I hope its good for the children also to know that we think about them all the time.

kind regards Gail Thomas – sponsor mom to SAROM
